Central Saint Martins graduate Christopher Kane has announced that his label will be entering into a partnership with luxury brand manager The PPR Group.

PPR has bought 51 per cent of the Christopher Kane brand and will provide him with the necessary support and expertise to successfully expand the label.

Kane, who has previously collaberated with TopshopVersace and Swarovski, is positive about the partnership.

He said: “We are very excited and honoured to be partnering with PPR for the next stage of development for our brand.

“PPR have an incredible reputation for building some of the very best luxury brands in the world. They respect our creative vision and they have the expertise and experience to help us build the Christopher Kane brand globally.”

Vogue recognition

Christopher Kane has been added to PPR’s already impressive portfolio, which includes Gucci, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney.

The label was founded after Kane’s graduation from MA Fashion in 2006 and won the BFC/Vogue New Designer of the Year in 2011.

Françious-Henri Pinault, chairman and chief executive of PPR, said: “Christopher is a truly great talent who has shown a real sense of modernity in the way he mixes elegance and subtle constructions. In just a few years, he has built a very distinctive and exciting brand with a unique DNA.

“We thus have great ambitions for the brand and will enable it to benefit from our expertise and know-how while providing space for it to further develop its own creative identity.”
