Major Retailers See Sales Fall

Three of  UK’s biggest retailers are feeling the pressure after low Christmas sale statisitics revealed today.

Morrisons, Tescos and Marks & Spencers have all seen decreases in sales which include home good items.  M & S figures also revealed a 2.1 percent drop in women clothing purchases.

I spoke with women in London about why Marks’  clothing sales are so low and the concensus was  pretty neutral— Women are just not keen on the value  and quality of  clothes sold at the high street department store and prefer to shop elsewhere; Though food shopping still remains their big money maker.

Retail analyst Richard Perks says plans to reverse  sales it won’t happen overnight.
