How are student loans being spent?
Since the start of the Student Loans Company in 1990, students applying for loans and grants has significantly risen with more than a million applicants receiving financial aid last year.
With application numbers rising and the government putting through a scheme that will pass student loans onto a privatised company, Arts London News decided to ask students at LCC how they spend their loans and how they have to rely solely on loans and grants to pay for tuition and living fees.
Are they wasting money on shopping sprees or are they struggling to make ends meet, even with tuition fee loans of up to £9,000 and maintenance loans on top of that?
