‘Frustrating’ hockey game for UAL women

UAL Women’s 1st 0 – 1 Royal Veterinary College Women’s 1st

ALN sport logoThe match was highly contested with both teams having very good chances to win the game.

The game got off to a slow start with both sides showing some very good dribbling ability but lacking the finish touch in front of goal.

However, Royal Veterinary did manage to score the only goal in the game in the first half.

After the break UAL had good chances to make it level with captain Sasha Morse and Jessica Pass playing wonderfully with dribbling and passing accuracy to push for the equaliser.

“I think the end result was frustrating but we’re still at the beginning of the season.” Sasha Morse

Royal Veterinary could have doubled their lead, but excellent defending from Hayley Blythe and Davina Cochrane denied them a second goal.

Royal Veterinary had another chance to score towards the end, but despite the shot hitting the post, eventually they still came away with a win.

“I think the end result was frustrating but we’re still at the beginning of the season.

“We played very good so it was disappointing we lost. But I’m very proud of the team.” Said UAL’s captain Morse after the game.
