10 Minute DIY – How to Make a Bow Tie

If you are looking for a fast and cheap way to update your wardrobe this summer then look no further. This 10 minute do-it-yourself project will smarten and brighten up the drabbest of collars in just five easy steps.
You will need:
- One 5in x 5in square of any fabric of your choice
- One 0.5in x 5in strip of the same fabric
- Wundaweb (£1.49 from Amazon) or fabric glue
- An alligator clip or brooch pin

Step one: Take your two pieces of fabric and hem the edges using iron-on Wundaweb, fabric glue or, if you have time, you can sew it.
Step two: Fold the square piece in two down the middle and then fold the two outer edges to make a pleat.
Step three: Wrap some thread around the middle of the bow and tie it so that it keeps its shape.
Step four: Wrap your 0.5in x 5in strip around the middle of the bow, concealing the thread.
Step five: Secure the strip with glue and slide the alligator clip into it.
