After 22 years, Irish alternative rock band My Bloody Valentine have finally released their new album m b v.

Their much-anticipated third album could have had a more inspiring title following a two-decade wait; announced on the band’s Facebook page, the album was uploaded to their official website within three hours, with fans being so excited that the website crashed.

Following their groundbreaking second album Loveless (1991), My Bloody Valentine still manage to be revolutionary despite having not released an album in over 20 years.

It’s best to give the album a while to digest before deciding whether or not it lives up to Isn’t Anything or Loveless.

Nearly every track on the album is immediately recognisable as a My Bloody Valentine song, with She Found Now opening the album exactly where Loveless left off.

So was m b v worth the wait?Well, that all depends on whether you were a fan of the band in the first place.

This new album is unlikely to win My Bloody Valentine many new fans, but old listeners will most likely love it.

One thing’s for sure, you can judge for yourself when the band kick off their tour at the Hammersmith Apollo next month.
