Style Spotting at London Fashion Week

With London Fashion week once again rearing its multi-coloured head around the corner, ALN has decided to take a look at the fashion away from the catwalks, and see what the girls and guys around Somerset house wore at fashion week.

Every corner you look at there is a splash of colour, even the fashion guides wear bright yellow coats with turquoise knee length dresses which add a ray of sunshine to the cold streets of London.

This season the fashionistas of London have shown us that head accessories are a must have – from floral headbands to beanies or fedora hats.

The girls and boys of London teamed plain black outfits with yellow, orange and pink neon beanies, which brought a needed colour break to the cold grey weather.

Guys partnered leather jackets with flat caps and girls paired colourful prints with bowler hats.

We were taught that an essential piece for Fashion week is a statement headpiece. Whether you make it yourself by simply sewing a few jewels on to a cap or snap it up from a high street shop, you are sure to turn a few heads. After all, Londoners are supposedly known for their love for headwear.

Neon beanies can be found on ASOS  for £7. Flat caps can be bought in a variety of different colours, prints or with statement slogans. These can be found anywhere from sport stores to ebay.

Hats were not the only only pieces found around London during fashion week – celebs and keen fashion goers have also been seen sporting spikes and studs, pastels and metallics –  showing these trends are keen to stay for throughout spring and summer.

Bags with studs are a massive hit and studded heels are also set to make a comeback. Look on ALDO for some great styles this season.

Something everyone at Somerset House was keep to exhibit was the metallic trend.  From their shoes down to their clutch bags. Everything metallic is an instant hit, and will be around for a while. Check out Zara’s metallic knitwear.

If metallic is not your thing, try pastel colours, they are great for the spring or can be worn with black tights throughout the winter to keep the frosty weather out.  H&M have some great pastel blazers.

Whatever you wear, make sure you feel confident and know you look good- keep stylish and keep confident.
