UAL graduate Rankin has celebrated the success of his film-making talent pool platform by screening six new films.

Collabor8te was launced by the London College of Communication (LCC) alumnus to provide opportunities for new talent after the collapse of the UK Film Council.

After university photographer Rankin co-founded both AnOther Magazine and Dazed and Confused with another LCC alumnus, Jefferson Hack.

The six films premiered at the Regent Street Cinema on February 12 were created through the Rankin Film Productions Collabor8te programme.

Opportunities

The scheme works with filmmakers – from directors through to scriptwriters – to produce films to feature on Dazed Digital and Hunger TV.

Rankin said: “Founded in 2011, Collabor8te creates opportunities for new talent to be discovered and helps those who may not otherwise have the chance to develop their ideas.

“The standard of films that emerged from year one shows how schemes like these help promising grassroots.”

Directors and producers interested in the Collabor8te programme should apply here by April 2013.
