A Camberwell College of Art graduate is presenting a monthly show on Rinse FM.

Alex Sushon, 27, co-presents the show with his business partner L-Vis 1990 and various other producers on the fourth Sunday of every month.

The pair, who are both part of the music label Night Slugs, have  just released a 12 track compilation album called All Stars Vol 2.

The predominantly house and hip-hop album features tracks from Bok Bok – Sushon’s stage name – as well as Girl Unit and Morri$.

After graduating from Camberwell, Sushon worked in digital and online based production at an advertising agency before he decided to focus on music.

“It was great for initial experience,” he explained, “but it wasn’t for me in the long run. Agency life in general is not for me.

“There were more opportunities for me on the music side of things, which made me more excited.” Alex Sushon

“Eventually, I noticed there were more opportunities for me on the music side of things, which made me more excited and I put more energy into it,” he said.

As well as producing music for Night Slugs, Sushon also plays an important role in deciding the art direction of the label.

He said: “My aim is to supplement the specific ideas, themes and feel of the music with a visual that will form a 3D experience the two wouldn’t be able to deliver separately.

“The cover artwork and the tracks together form a little world; the visuals create the setting for the narrative of the music.”
