Trendspotter: Fur hats
Spotted at LCC this week
Students at London College of Communication have found a stylish way of conquering the cold weather. The sun may be out but the temperature is still low and it seems a fur hat is the must-have item on campus.
Originally worn by Russian aristocrats in the 1800s, they are now seeing a revival. It may be down to the recent remake of Anna Karenina or the return of opulent comfort and cosiness in Marc Jacobs’ 2012-13 Autumn-Winter collection.
They are an affordable luxury for most people and it is hard to find a place without at least one person keeping warm and looking stylish under a fur hat.
They are versatile and can be dressed up or down – whether worn with jeans and a T-shirt or used as an accessory to complete a ‘statement’ outfit they create a strong look.
From under £15 in H&M, there is no real reason why you can’t get on board this trend. The cold is not going anywhere soon, so perhaps it is best that you get yourself one sooner, rather than later, to help keep you warm and looking good.
