Despite the fact that there are many Italian restaurants in London, Amico Bio is distinctly different from the others in that it provides fresh seasonal products and healthier cuisine.

Not far from Tottenham Court Road tube station, Amico Bio is the first organic vegetarian Italian restaurant in London.

The cuisine is exclusively vegetarian organic, including drink and dessert, while some dishes are even gluten-free and vegan.

Alongside these, there are more than ten varieties of soft drinks that are also vegetarian organic. The ‘organic sparkling coffee’ is certainly worth a try; it is an iced coffee that tastes a bit sweet at first but ultimately leaves a pleasant bitter taste.

As an appetiser, ‘Antipasto Misto’ – a set of five small antipastos including potato croquettes, pasta cake, fresh salad, rice croquettes and small pizza – is highly recommended and is large enough to share between two people.

Affordable

The croquettes are crisp deep-fried but hardly felt oily. Diced vegetables such as onion, carrot, courgette and wood–ear mushroom can be added on small pizzas as a topping. Many other appetisers are available from £3.50, as well as a side menu that starts from £3.00.

Amico Bio offers a wide range of main dishes (pasta, pizza, risotto, soup and tempura) with fresh vegetables imported from Capua, Italy where the family farm is located.

Of the wide range of healthy main dishes, priced between £7.00 and £9.00. the ravioli was the one that staff recommended. It is served with sliced tomatoes and light tomato sauce which all complemented each other perfectly.

Amico Bio offers great set deals, including their lunch menu; available from Monday to Saturday.

A selection of homemade ice cream and sorbets are among the dessert options made with soya milk. Apple tarte, fruit salad with whipped cream and chocolate are also available alongside other delicious desserts from £5.00.

Additionally, Amico Bio offers great set deals, including their lunch menu; available from Monday to Saturday, and includes one starter, main and dessert for £10.

Due to the size of the restaurant, spaces between tables are a bit narrow which is the only weak point.

However, the waiters are friendly and attentive which helps you to order with ease.
